Temple Turmeric was founded in 2009 by Daniel Sullivan, a turmeric farmer turned entrepreneur.〔 The company was originally known as ''Tumeric: Elixir of Life'' and ''TumericALIVE'' before it rebranded in 2015 to become known as ''Temple Turmeric''. Sullivan discovered turmeric in 2008 on a trip to Hawaii.
